The Last Night in Lisbon

Lisbon 1942

In a city disturbed in its gray calm by the echoes of the Second World War, exiles and spies move around. A young journalist who works for the most important Portuguese Nazi newspaper finds himself at the center of an intrigue that puts his simple life into question and forces him to take sides. This is how Henrique finds himself involved in a relationship with a mysterious foreigner who makes him doubt everything he had previously taken for granted...

"When reading the exciting historical novel entitled The Last Night in Lisbon, by Sérgio Luís de Carvalho, I travelled in thought through this city, although in a record of other times."

Cátia Miriam Costa, in Oje, May 2014
