In the village of Monsaraz, in the middle 16th. century, two men, the judge and the priest, are fighting for the village’s primacy. Although this quarrel is about a tower clock, soon the conflict spreads all over the region, calling the dark attention of a raising power: the Inquisition. And what firstly was  a mere local dispute, soon ends in tragedy…
