Biographical data

Sérgio Luís de Carvalho was born in Lisbon in 1959.

 

Has a degree in History (1981) and a Masters in Medieval History (1988).

 

Has more than thirty books published in several areas: literature for the youth, historical studies and novels.

Sintra, 1348. The Black Plague ravages the village and the country. The local notary, João Lourenço, discovers that he has got the terrible disease and understands that he has only one week to live. In a disturbing narrative João Lourenço revives his life, in a remembrance full of emotions that is also the memory of medieval Portugal.
